A few years ago when I was trying to figure out what kind of place I should build on my own piece of land, I contacted Treacy & Eagleburger Architects because I’d stumbled across one of their designs on the net and absolutely loved it. After sending a short introductory email, I received a reply from Phillip Eagleburger and it was one of the nicest, most personable emails I’ve ever received from an architectural firm.
Although I didn’t end up using their services, I got to know Phillip Eagleburger over the course of several months of emailing and, without a shred of doubt, I can honestly say this is the one firm I’d love to approach if I needed comprehensive design work done.
Treacy & Eagleburger was established in 1989 and is based in Washington DC, but they’ve also produced beautiful design work for clients outside the Washington area. They’re a multi-award winning design studio specializing in custom, single family residential architecture, and even though their work spans a wide variety of building styles, they’re clearly the masters at walking “the line between traditional and contemporary” (DC Mud). I’ve included some of the images of their work here, but head on over to their website – www.treacyeagleburger.com – to see lots more.
Although I haven’t actually used Treacy & Eagleburger for a building project (yet!), I’m still pleased to provide a personal recommendation. You can tell a lot by the effort a company goes to when it comes to customer service, and these days, unfortunately, not that many go the extra mile or offer genuine interest and attention when it comes to smaller clients. Treacy & Eagleburger, I’m very glad to say, are one of the lovely exceptions.
